Dear friends:
When visiting San Diego, you definitely don’t want to miss out on its beautiful beaches, scholarly cultures, exotic eateries, and other wonders that the coastal city has to offer. TAC-WC 2017 has carefully arranged a one and half day post-conference tour, kicking off right after the closing of the Conference.
Day 1: After the closing ceremony, proceed to the breathtaking Balboa Park and explore its botanical gardens, museums, and art galleries, and discover why this cultural hub is hailed as the heart of San Diego. Then, head over to Old Town State Historic Park to uncover the origins of the city’s European forefathers, or simply browse specialty shops and undulate your hips to the spicy Mexico music. Afterwards, marvel at the seascape and pose for a photo with the goofy sea lions at the famous San Diego attraction: La Jolla Cove. (Lunch: Japanese-style lunchbox; Dinner: Emerald Seafood Restaurant)
Day 2: After breakfast, journey to the Hotel del Coronado, a historic beachfront hotel and a California historical landmark. Opened in 1888, it was the world’s largest holiday hotel at the time and had served numerous presidents, royal family members, and celebrities. Also appears frequently in movies and books. Then, we arrive at Cabrillo National Monument, a striking vantage point overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the east side of San Diego, Coronado Island and Mexico. In the afternoon, report to the Midway Aircraft Carrier and Seaport Village for a military nautical adventure. Finally, we retire at the airport, ready to return to home sweet home. (Breakfast: 85° C bread and juice; Lunch: Onami Japanese Seafood Buffet).
Friends, why wait? Take action now!
